Indonesia, Japan collaborate to tackle global trade challenges

Jakarta (VNA) 𓆏- Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti sought stronger collaboration with Japanese business stakeholders to address the current obstacles affecting the global trade ecosystem.

At a meeting with representatives of the Japan-Indonesia Association (JAPINDA) in Tokyo on June 9, she reinforced Indonesia's steadfast commitment to a rules-based global trade system, noting that the country would always push for constructive dialogue with relevant parties to identify solutions to trade challenges. At the national level, Indonesia is striving to enhance transparency, ensure regulatory certainty, drive market diversification, and strengthen domestic market resilience. Indonesia would like to invite Japanese business actors to cooperate in navigating this challenging time, Esti said.
The deputy minister emphasised that the Indonesian government ensures its trade policies are simplified and aligned with multilateralism, market diversification, and the deepening of foreign exchange reserves.
She also spoke highly of JAPINDA, highlighting its significant contribution to increasing the flow of capital into Indonesia. Meanwhile, JAPINDA's Senior Executive Director, Norio Yamazaki, highlighted that his organisation remains committed to elevating Indonesia-Japan ties through joint initiatives, such as seminars, a monthly publication about Indonesia, Indonesian language courses, and reciprocal visits./.
