Construction of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's Terminal No.4 will begin in the first half of 2021, according to President and Director of the State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin.

Jakarta (VNA)🐎 – Construction of the Soekarno-Hatta InternationalAirport's Terminal No.4 will begin in the first half of 2021, according toPresident and Director of the State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin.


Awaluddin said the construction will be finished withinthree years at the request of President Joko Widodo.

With a total investment of 777 million USD and a capacity of45 million passengers each year, nearly doubling Terminal No.3’s, the work willcover a site of 130ha owned by AngkasaPura II.

😼 Terminal 4will be built in anticipation of a surge in international passengers. Lastyear, the airport served 67 million passengers, an increase from 46 million in2017. It currently serves 200,000 passengers daily with more than 1,000flights.

Theconstruction of Terminal 4 will follow smart mobility, smart environment andsmart security concepts with self-check-in counters, self-baggage drop spotsand full-body x-ray scanners. The airport operator will also decide whether the terminal willprioritise low-cost carriers or full-service ones./.
