Jakarta (VNA) – As Chairman of ASEAN and the ASEAN Business AdvisoryCouncil (ABAC) in 2023, Indonesia has an important role to play in the reform ofthe health system in Southeast Asia, said ABAC Chair Arsjad Rasjid on April 6.

This innovation is important to economic ASEAN’s recoveryand growth after the COVID-19 pandemic, the official said, adding that an up-to-date, dynamic andprecise health system is crucial for the health of the Indonesian people andnation, as well as ASEAN in general.

He highlighted the importance of paying attention to fivekey aspects, namely people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership instrengthening the national health system.

Furthermore, Arsjad said that to strengthen the healthsystem and vaccine availability in Southeast Asia, ASEAN-BAC formed a HealthWorking Group (HWG). The formation of this group was also carried out in celebrationof the World Health Day (April 7)./.
