Jakarta (VNA) ไ– The International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 opened in Indonesia on September 5, bringing together senior officials, international organisations, environmental experts, and over 100 businesses participating in workshops, exhibitions, and product showcases.

In his opening remarks, Indonesian President Joko Widodo emphasised the global challenges of balancing economic growth with environmental protection to ensure a strong foundation for future generations. He stressed the need for nations to accelerate decarbonisation efforts by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to sustainable energy sources to achieve net-zero emissions.
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment and Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan highlighted the forum as an opportunity to review goals set in ISF 2023 and develop future solutions.
He underscored the urgent need for sustainable development amid severe environmental degradation and its long-term impacts. The two-day event will focus on both financial and non-financial strategies to achieve sustainable growth. It also features hundreds of exhibitions showcasing sustainable production products to the public./.
