Indonesia seeks to strengthen trade ties with Saudi Arabia

Jakarta (VNA)🐻 – Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has expressed his optimism in expanding trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on February 11 during a meeting with Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal F. Alibrahim at the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, Hartarto emphasised Indonesia’s commitment to leveraging its free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council to boost exports.
Indonesian exports to Saudi Arabia grew by 11% in 2024, and further growth is expected.
Saudi Arabia, in turn, expressed interest in strengthening tourism ties, particularly by exploring the potential of Sumatra Island as a destination for Saudi travelers. Hartarto welcomed the initiative, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s role as a key partner in Indonesia’s long-term economic vision, Golden Indonesia 2045./.
