Indonesia sees surge in non-oil exports to West Africa

Non-oil and gas exports of Indonesia to 11 West African countries in January-October surged 20.7 percent on a yearly basis.

Jakarta (VNA) -Non-oil and gas exports of Indonesia to 11 West African countries inJanuary-October surged 20.7 percent on a yearly basis.

According to Indonesian Ambassador to NigeriaHarry Purwanto, export value of non-oil and gas products to West Africa totaled779 million USD in the period.

Trade exchange between Indonesiaand West Africa is expanding to special goods such as train, military equipmentand mining products.

Some 47 Indonesian firms haveopened representative offices in Lagos, Nigeria. Products from the SoutheastAsian country have earned trust from local consumers.

The Indonesian Government has encouraged Indonesianfirms to invest and do business in West Africa, which is a potential marketwith total population of 300 million and GDP of 650 billion USD.

The 11 West African countriesare Benin, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Ghana, Cameroon, Congo, Liberia, Niger,Nigeria, Sao Tome & Principe, and Togo.-VNA
