New Delhi (VNA) - Indonesia is eyeing a 50 billion USDbilateral trade with India by 2025, as the figure has already reached 20billion USD last year.

ConsulGeneral of Indonesia in India Agus P. Saptono said that his country is keen onenhancing trade and investment ties with India in the areas of informationtechnology, health and pharmaceuticals, agro products, automotive componentsand tourism related projects.

Speakingto BusinessLine on the sidelines of a meeting with officialsof Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry on February 8, he saidIndonesia is looking at increasing the spices trade from India that includedcloves, nutmeg, pepper, vanilla etc. Indonesia sees India as a good investmentdestination and looking at a comprehensive economic partnership for the mutualbenefit of the two countries.

The state of Kerala also offers good opportunities to build trade ties with Indonesia especially inthe sectors of tourism promotion, spices production, furniture exports.

Accordingto him, Indonesian exports to India are mainly textiles, electronic goods,footwear and sawn timber, while chemicals, pharmaceuticals, machines and motorvehicles, automotives are the major imports from India to Indonesia.

Besides, Indonesian companies have significantly invested in the foodprocessing sector in India, he added./.
