Jakarta (VNA) 🐽– The Jakarta police will deploy nearly 6,800 personnel to secure the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, scheduled to take place on October 20.
Security personnel will include those from the Jakarta police personnel, the district military command, the Jakarta provincial government, and related parties, head of the Jakarta Police's Public Relations Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi said on October 18.
Those who are targeted for the security (measures) include the President-elect and Vice President-elect, invited guests, invited heads of state, according to Indradi, adding that security personnel will also guard the routes taken by VIP and VIP vehicles and the Parliament Complex area.
The police will divert traffic flow in the event of congestion around the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta.
Road users are recommended to avoid the area and look for other alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion, he said.
The Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) deployed four F-16 fighter jets to ensure security for the inauguration.
