Indonesia to develop disaster resilient infrastructure
Indonesia will build adaptive and resilient infrastructure to protect itself from the impact of natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, or volcanic eruption, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono has announced.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia will build adaptive and resilient infrastructure to protect itself from the impact of natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, or vo🎶lcanic erupt☂ion, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono has announced.
Speaking at a press conference on January 8, he emphasised the importance of strong infrastructure in mitigating the effects of natural disasters, given Indonesia's location within the Pacific Ring of Fire.
The minister acknowledged Indonesia's vulnerability to various natural disasters, particularly earthquakes, which can significantly impact infrastructure.
As a nation situated within the Ring of Fire, Indonesia is inherently susceptible to a range of natural disasters. Thus, the country must be prepared to face these challenges, he noted.
Infrastructure must be both responsive and adaptive and meet the requirements of development, he added.
Yudhoyono emphasised that the Indonesian government will construct more advanced infrastructure across all regions while simultaneously maintaining a high level of preparedness for unexpected natural disasters.
The country will pursue technological innovations to create infrastructure that is more responsive to challenges and facilitates faster recovery in the event of natural disasters./.
