Indonesia, Turkey agree to launch initiatives to strengthen bilateral relations

Jakarta (VNA) – ꦍTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on April 10 held talks with his Indonesian counterpart Subianto Prabowo, who was on an official visit to Turkey.

President Erdogan said at a joint press conference that the two countries have agreed to launch new initiatives to enhance cooperation across multiple areas, including the defence industry, construction, health care, energy, and food processing, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s correspondent in Jakarta cited the local media as reporting.
The two leaders also exchanged views on measures to foster bilateral trade, with a shared goal of reaching 10 billion USD in a balanced and mutually beneficial manner. Several cooperation documents were signed during the visit, covering areas such as culture, disaster and emergency management, and media. President Subianto expressed his appreciation for the long-standing relationship between Indonesia and Turkey. Regarding the conflict between Hamas and Israel in Gaza Strip, President Erdogan said Turkey would continue to work with Indonesia on the reconstruction of Gaza and defending the Palestinian cause./.
