Jakarta (VNA)𝓰 – Indonesia and Turkey have officially started negotiations of theIndonesia-Turkey Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IT-CEPA) duringIndonesian President Joko Widodo’s state visit to Turkey.
IndonesianTrade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita and Turkish Deputy Prime Minister andEconomy Minister Nihat Zeybekci signed the documents to launch the IT-CEPAnegotiations, which was witnessed by President Joko Widodo and President RecepTayyip Erdogan after their meeting on July 6, reported Antara News. Indonesiaand Turkey have agreed to recover positive trends of trade and investmentthrough the negotiations, President Joko Widodo said at a joint pressconference. Thetwo countries also approved to cut down and remove trade barriers, as well ascreate favourable investment climate, he added. TheIndonesian President encouraged Turkey to increase investment in Indonesia,especially in maritime, infrastructure and energy. Besides,the two sides will enhance cooperation in intelligence exchange to fightagainst terrorism.-VNA
