Indonesian police foil terror plot in university campus raid

The elite counterterrorism squad Densus 88 of Indonesia’s National Police has foiled a bombing plot in a raid on a university campus in Pekanbaru city of Riau province, according to local police.

Jakarta (VNA) – The elite counterterrorism squadDensus 88 of Indonesia’s National Police has foiled a bombing plot in a raid ona university campus in Pekanbaru city of Riau province, according to localpolice.

Riau’s police chief Nandang said that on June 2,police seized four ready-for-use homemade bombs, bomb-making materials andweapons like a rifle, bows and arrows.

The bombs found in the Riau University campus wereas strong as the explosives used by bombers to attack three churches inSurabaya on May 13, killing dozens of civilians.

Nandang added police also arrested three terror suspectsin connection with the plot, all of them former students of Riau University.
