Indonesian police ready to maintain public order during 2024 elections

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held an internal coordination meeting to ensure readiness for the 2023–2024 Operation Mantap Brata to maintain public order and safety during the general elections period.
Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesian NationalPolice (Polri) held an internal coordination meeting to ensure readiness forthe 2023–2024 Operation Mantap Brata to maintain public order and safety duringthe general elections period.

They have formed nine task forces for theoperation, which include the preventive task force, pre-emptive task force, andaction task force, the head of the Polri's Public Information Bureau, BrigadierGeneral Ahmad Ramadhan, said on October 26.

The remaining six are the law enforcement,presidential and vice presidential candidates' security, anti-terrorism,security for polling stations overseas, public relations, and operationalassistance task forces.

Meanwhile, the strategies for the operation havebeen prepared, including the task division as well as the number of personneland equipment.

Before carrying out the task, there is pre-operationtraining to improve the professionalism and ability of each member who isserving in Operation Mantap Brata, he explained.

Operation Mantap Brata officially started on October19, 2023, and will end on October 20, 2024. It involves 261,695 policepersonnel from the level of Police Headquarters to regional police across thecountry in securing all stages of the election. /.
