Indonesia will hold general election in April next year,with candidates for president and vice president having until August 10 toregister their nominations.
Joko Widodo, 57, won the national poll in July 2014 with53.15 percent of votes. He was a businessman before becoming mayor ofSurakarta, a city in Central Java. He won the gubernatorial election in 2012 toserve as Governor of Jakarta before running in the presidential race four yearsago.–VNA
