Indonesia’s Bali island named world’s best destination

Indonesia’s resort island of Bali has been given the World’s Best Destination Award 2017 by the well-known travel reviewer website TripAdvisor.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s resort island of Balihas been given the World’s Best Destination Award 2017 by the well-known travelreviewer website TripAdvisor.

The winner ofthe award came up from millions of opinions and reviews submitted by readersover destinations listed in the programme which later ranked by TripAdvisor.

TripAdvisorreviews three main categories of accommodation, tour attractions andrestaurant. 

The title makesBali the first Asian destination to earn TripAdvisor World's Best Destination,surprisingly brushing aside London (UK), Paris (France), Rome (Italy), New York(US), Crete (Greece), Barcelona (Spain), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Prague (CzechRepublic) and Phuket (Thailand) which were listed in TripAdvisor's top 10 worlddestinations.

Bali is a tourdestination that provides the best experiences for all kinds of visitors,including for those eager to see natural views, cultural attraction as well asfor gastronomic enthusiasts. No wonder they always wanted to share what theyhad been experienced in Bali to the world, said Sarah Mathews, TripAdvisor AsiaPacific Head of Destination Marketing.

With this title, Bali is expected to help theIndonesian government achieve its target of welcoming 20 million foreigntourists in 2019. 

BesidesBali, TripAdvisor also puts Lombok, a destination near Bali, as one of the best10 Asian destinations this year.-VNA
