Jakarta (VNA)𓄧 – Indonesian President Joko Widodo will appoint PoliceCommissioner General Rycko Amelza as head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and Dito Ariotedjo as Minister of Youth andSport Affairs.

Dito Ariotedjo is now head of the Central ExecutiveBoard (DPP) of Angkatan Muda Pembaharuan Indonesia (AMPI). A source from the Presidential Office unveiled on April 3 that the two officials will be officially appointed on April 5.

Amelza will be appointed as BNPT head to succeedBoy Rafli Amar, who will soon retire. Regarding the field of counterterrorism, Amelza was part of thePolice Criminal Detective Agency that successfully arrestedthe infamous terrorist Dr Azahari and his group in Batu city on November 9, 2005. Three years later, Amelza wasserving as the head of the North Jakarta Metro Police before being appointed asa presidential aide for then President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) duringhis second term of administration.

💦 Since 2013, Amelza has served in numerous institutions, including the Police Education and TrainingInstitute (Lemdiklat Polri) in 2021.

Meanwhile, Ariotedjohas been chosen to replace Zainuddin Amali, who submitted his resignationletter as Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs to the President on March 9, 2023.

🍌 Ariotedjo is known for his active involvement insports-related affairs. He hasbeen part of the expert team for the Coordinating Minister for Economy since2022./.
