To Huy Rua, Politburomember and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission forOrganisation, made the affirmation while meeting with Japanese leadersduring his visit to Japan from May 16-20.

At hismeetings with Vice Speaker of the Japanese House of Representative EtoSeishiro and Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura, Rua highly valuedJapan ’s assistance for Vietnam in developing the economy.

He thanked the Japanese Government and people for their ODA provisionfor Vietnam despite their own difficulties derived from naturaldisasters.

He also affirmed Vietnam’sdetermination to use the ODA effectively and speed up the implementationof projects agreed by the two sides.

On theirpart, the Japanese leaders affirmed that Japanese parliamentarians, bethey from any political party, want to boost the friendship withVietnam. They expressed their belief that Vietnam ’s stable developmentwill contribute to the development of Mekong River countries.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said the Japanese Governmentwill consider measures to help Vietnam implement ODA-funded projects.

At a working session with the leaders of the Japan Federation ofEconomic Organisations (Nippon Keidanren), Rua called on Japaneseorganisations and businesses to participate in infrastructureconstruction projects in Vietnam with suitable cooperation forms,including the public-private partnership (PPP).

Toshiaki Egashira, Co-chairman of Keidanren’s Asian and OceaniaCommittee, expressed his wish to strengthen economic, trade andinvestment cooperation with Vietnam , thus promoting theimplementation of infrastructure construction projects.

He asked that the Vietnamese Government create more favourableconditions for Japanese investors through perfecting the legal system,investment policy and environment.

After theworking session, the two sides witnessed the signing of a memorandum ofunderstanding between Vietnam ’s M&C Group and Toshiba Group ofJapan on a project to develop an intelligent community in Vietnam .

Rua also visited the headquarters of the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) and held talks with the JCP Chairman, Kazuo Shii.

He met with former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, who is nowPresident of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance of theDemocratic Party of Japan (DPJ), and the President of the Japan-VietnamFriendship Parliamentary Alliance of the Liberal Democratic Party,Tsutomu Takebe.

The Vietnamese delegation heldtalks with Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications TatsuoKawabata and National Personnel Authority Commissioner Hara Tsuneo oncooperation in personnel organisation and management as well as in humanresource development.-VNA
