Hanoi (VNA) – The Japanese Government has announced its invitationto Vietnamese leaders to the G7 Summit in Hiroshima scheduled for May 20-21,deputy spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Pham Thu Hang told theministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on March 23.

Regarding foreign media’s analysis that Japan’s invitations to Vietnamand Indonesia to the event shows its appreciation for ties with ASEAN and itsdesire to upgrade the relationship to a comprehensive partnership, Hangaffirmed that Vietnam highly values the strong and substantial progress inASEAN-Japan relations, making positive contributions to the common goal ofpeace, security, stability and prosperity.
