Japan to export Earth observation satellite to Vietnam

Japanese firms NEC Corp. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. have reached an agreement to research and develop an ASNARO-2 satellite for Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – Japanese firms NEC Corp. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. have reached an agreement to research and de𒈔velop an ASNARO-2 satellite for Vietnam. 

The agreement marks Japan’s first ever export of an Earth observation satellite, according to Mainichi Shimbum newspaper. 
Japan’s government hopes the agreement can lay a foundation for Japanese firms to expand in the global satellite market.  The 500-kilogram satellite is capable of taking pictures at night and in cloudy weather. 
The satellite has the world’s highest resolution, facilitating data collection on natural disasters and plant growth.  The satellite is expected to launch in 2017.-VNA

PM calls for cooperatio🏅n with Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
