Japanese firm holds festival for Vietnamese apprentices

Japan’s Ikai Group organised a festival for its Vietnamese apprentices and engineers in Yamanashi prefecture on October 20, gathering over 300 participants.

Hanoi (VNA) – Japan’s Ikai Group organised afestival for its Vietnamese apprentices and engineers in Yamanashi prefectureon October 20, gathering over 300 participants.

The festival featured various entertainment activities andJapanese food.

Speaking at the event, chairman and CEO of the group TakeshiIkai said the event aimed at strengthening the connection between theVietnamese workers and their Japanese colleagues as well as reflecting thecompany’s gratitude for their contributions to the business.

Phan Tien Hoang, chief representative of the VietnameseMinistry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs in Japan, lauded the IkaiGroup’s efforts to ensure the material and spiritual lives of its Vietnamese apprenticesand engineers.

Highlighting the festival as an opportunity for mutualunderstanding, he recommended Vietnamese workers respect the firm’s regulationsand the host nation’s laws and learn from Japan’s advanced science-technologyknowledge.

Tsutomu Takebe, Special Advisor to the Japan-VietnamFriendship Parliamentary Alliance, said the group provides a top trainingfacility for both Japanese and Vietnamese workers.

He hoped Vietnamese apprentices will adopt Japanesetechnologies to take home and develop their country.

Established in 1970, the Ikai Group operates in differentfields, including mechanics, electricity, electronics, medicine and industrialchemicals, among others. It is now home to 236 apprentices and 16 engineersfrom the Southeast Asian nation./.
