Tokyo (VNA) – Japan will continue working closely with Vietnam toeffectively conduct projects funded by Japan’s official development assistance(ODA), especially in high-quality workforce development and administrativereform, said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Duringa reception in Tokyo on August 29 for Politburo member and head of the PartyCentral Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh, who is also Chairmanof the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, Abe said Japansupports Vietnam in successfully holding the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting2017 and wishes to increase bilateral ties in regional and global issues.
Chinhasked Abe and the Japanese government to further promote bilateralcomprehensive partnership, especially in ODA provision, and the development of infrastructure,high technology, and quality human resources, as well as share experience inadministrative reform and public health care.
Thesame day, Chinh met President of the Japanese House of Councillors OshimaTadamori, Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan cum Presidentof the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Nikai Toshihiro and headof the LDP’s Policy Research Council Fumio Kishida.
Oshimaexpressed his strong support for continuing ODA supply to Vietnam, and enhancingties between the two legislatures and the friendship parliamentarians’ groupsof the two countries.
Hepledged to assist Vietnam in administrative reform projects and receiving moreVietnamese trainees and students.
Thehost wished that the two nations would continue mutual support in multilateralparliamentary forums to contribute to peace, security and stability in theregion and the world.
Japaneseand LDP leaders expressed wish to strengthen ties with the Communist Party ofVietnam and jointly work to celebrate the 45th anniversary ofbilateral diplomatic ties next year.-VNA
