Japanese painter exhibits miniature Vietnam

The Museum of Cham Sculpture in the central city of Da Nang on October 20 opened an exhibition titled “The World of Vietnam in Microcosms” by Japanese artist Toba Mika.

Da Nang (VNA) – The Museum ofCham Sculpture in the central city of Da Nang on October 20 opened anexhibition titled “The World of Vietnam in Microcosms” by Japanese artist TobaMika.

On display are paintings depicting Vietnam’scentral localities, such as Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An.

Lasting until November 12, the event is the7th exhibition of Toba Mika in Vietnam.

Graduated from the Kyoto City University ofArts, the Japanese painter has developed a new style of painting by utilisingKatazome, a traditional dyeing method of Japan.

Following her first visit to Vietnam in1994, Toba Mika created a series of large-scale paintings featuring Vietnamesesceneries which are disappearing. She was granted the Vietnamese Government’scultural testimonial award.-VNA

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
