 The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa will do the best to ensure social security, healthcare, transport and food safety for the success of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2015, slated to be held in Nha Trang City from September to October. Nguyen Duy Bac, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee made the pledge at a meeting with the contest organising board on August 20.
The pageant held by the Hoan Vu Sai Gon Joint Stock Company, is billed as a national cultural event, which helps promote local tourism while introducing Vietnamese history, culture and people to international friends, said Tran Ngoc Nhat, head of the organising board. The first round of the contest is now underway, and some 45 beauties nationwide will be selected to join in the semifinal and final rounds in Khanh Hoa on September 11-15 and September 29- October 3, respectively. Both rounds are scheduled to be organised at the Crown Convention Centre of Diamond Bay Nha Trang tourism complex.
The beach resort city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province has hosted many beauty contests both national and international. The Miss Universe Vietnam contest was first hold in 2008, in which Nguyen Thuy Lam won the crown and represented Vietnam at the International Miss Universe Contest held in Nha Trang city in the same year. She was among the top 15 finalists at the event.-VNA
