Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’sSanest Khanh Hoa ranked fourth in the 2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship after losing to Pakistan’s WAPDA team in thebronze-medal match in Myanmar on August 6.

The game was held at theWunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium.

The Pakistani side beatSanest Khanh Hoa in an intenselyfought 3-2 (19-25, 25-21,16-25, 25-20, 18-16) victory.

The Vietnamese side andWAPDA entered the competition court with similar 4-1 records. Each side’s onlyloss came in August 5’s semi-finals, with the Vietnamese team falling instraight sets to Iran’s Khatam Ardakan and the Pakistani side narrowlyedged out in exhausting five sets by Kazakhstan’s Atyrau.

With this result, WAPDA made history by claimingthird place at the Asian event for the first time, while Sanest Khanh Hoa also made history for Vietnam as the first team from the countryto reach the semi-finals of the top-tier championship.

Khatam Ardakan of Iran reigned supremeover the tournament after a 3-0 (29-27, 25-23, 25-22) blitz to defeat Atyrau ofKazakhstan in the final showdown.-VNA
