Hanoi (VNA) - The VTV9 - Binh Dien InternationalWomen's Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to be held in the southern provinceof Kien Giang from May 11-19.

The event will attract the participation of eight teamsincluding four teams of Vietnam and four others from the US, China andThailand.

According to the event’s draw, Binh Dien Long An, China’sNanjin, Vietinbank and Thailand are in Group A, while BIP of the US, Sichuan ofChina, Lienvietpostbank and Duc Giang Hanoi are in Group B.

They will compete in the round-robin format in the qualifyinground. In the final round, the first and second teams of each group will enterthe semi-finals, and two winning teams will advance to the final while the twoothers will vie for the third place.

The winner will walk away with a prize of 15,000 USD. Thematches will be aired live on VTV, SCTV and VTVCab.

Since 2006,  the VTV9 - Binh Dien International Women'sVolleyball Tournament has become an international women's volleyball tournamentorganised by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, and sponsored by VietnamTelevision - VTV9 and Binh Dien Long An.-VNA
