Lac Hong team won Robocon Vietnam 2019

The LF-WAO team from Lac Hong University in the southern province of Dong Nai won the 2019 Vietnam Robot Contest (Robocon Vietnam) in the northern province of Hai Duong on May 12.

Hai Duong (VNA) - The LF-WAO teamfrom Lac Hong University in the southern province of Dong Nai won the 2019Vietnam Robot Contest (Robocon Vietnam) in the northern province of Hai Duongon May 12.

Completing its performance within 24seconds, the LF-WAO surpassed seven other teams to seize victory. It was thesecond consecutive year a team from Lac Hong University had won the contest.

The winner will represent Vietnam at the ABUAsia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) in Mongolia this August.

SKH3 from Hung Yen University of Technologyand Education came second, while third prizes were presented to two teams – SaoDo Legend from Sao Do Hai Duong University and DCN-DT3 from Hanoi University ofIndustry.

The 2019 Robocon promotes the idea of“Sharing the knowledge” initiated by host Mongolia, with its content inspiredby the Urtuu system, first innovated by the nomadic Mongolians for exchanginginformation over long distances, and by the Mongolian folk game Shagai, duringwhich players flick animal ankle bones at a target.

Robocon Vietnam has been held annually bythe Vietnam Television (VTV) since 2002.

The ABU Robocon was founded in 2002 by theAsia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. At the event, robots compete to complete atask within a set period of time.

Vietnam has triumphed at the ABU Roboconseven times. The championships were claimed by Ho Chi Minh City University ofScience and Technology in 2002, 2004 and 2006, while Lac Hong University won in2014, 2017, and 2018, and Hung Yen University of Technology and Education tookthe title in 2015.-VNA
