Lang Son: Volunteer experts honoured with Lao orders, medals
A ceremony was held in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son on February 28 to present Laos’s orders and medals to the provincial volunteer soldiers and military experts in recognition of their contributions to Laos’s revolutionary cause.

Among the awarded, five fallen soldiers were granted Laos’s first-class FreedomOrder, 49 individuals received first-class Victory Order and 19 others werepresented with anti-American resistance medals.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham NgocThuong expressed his thanks to the Lao government for presenting noble medalsto 73 experts and volunteers soldiers in the province.
He affirmed that the locality treasures the special friendship relations andcomprehensive cooperation between two nations.
Laos decided to present its orders and medals to nearly 9,000 Vietnamesesoldiers on the occasion of 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laosdiplomatic relations (1962-2017) and the 40th anniversary of signingthe Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (1977-2017).-VNA
A ceremony was held in the northern province of Thai Binh on October 26 to present Lao orders and medals to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts.
A total of 43 volunteer soldiers and experts in the central province of Quang Binh were presented with orders and medals of the Lao State at a ceremony in Dong Hoi city on November 1.
Seventeen Vietnamese officials, volunteer experts and soldiers who had performed international missions in Laos have been awarded with the orders and medals of Laos.

PM Chinh lauded the press’s historic role in the nation’s fight for independence and its ongoing process of national development, affirming that the Government always highly appreciates the close partnership and steadfast support of press agencies and journalists nationwide.
In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.

A master plan on implementation of recommendations accepted by Vietnam under the fourth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) took effect on June 17.
