Lao Cai(VNA) – President Tran DaiQuang has asked authorities of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai to takesynchronous measures to improve growth quality and promote economic developmentin a more rapid and sustainable manner.
Speaking at a ceremony celebrating Lao Cai’s 110th founding anniversary in LaoCai city on July 9, the State leader urged the locality to well perform sectorialplans, while improving effectiveness of the use of resources for investment anddevelopment.
He stressed the need to focus on economic restructuring in connection with labourrestructuring, increase the proportion of service and industry and theproductivity of forestry production, and promote the rural economy and newrural development.
He urged the province to develop Sa Pa into a national tourist site.
President Quang said Lao Cai province should pay more attention to humanresources development, health care, and education for ethnic minority people, preservationand promotion of ethnic cultures, sustainable poverty reduction, while expandingforeign relations, effectively managing the border line, and defending nationalsovereignty.
The President stressed the work related to Party and political system building.
On the occasion, the President presented the Independence Order, first class,to Lao Cai, and gave gifts to 30 wounded and sick soldiers and representativesfrom martyrs’ and policy beneficiary families in the locality.-VNA
