(Photo: VNA) ai Phong (VNA) – Secretary of Hai Phong city’s Party Committee LeTien Chau, who is former Vice President and General Secretary of the VietnamFatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, on April 27 was awarded a second-classFreedom Order (Issara) of Laos for his contributions to cooperation in frontwork between the two countries.
The Order was presented by President of the CentralCommittee of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) SinlavongKhoutphaythoune as part of his working visit to the northern port city.
He affirmed that Chau’s contributions have helped strengthenthe great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between thetwo Parties, States and people of Laos and Vietnam.
Expressing his honour to receive such a valuable award, Chau said he hopes theLao Party, Government, and the LFNC will support and create conditions to promotethe time-honoured friendship, fraternal solidarity, multifaceted cooperationbetween the two countries in general and Hai Phong city and Vientiane andUdomxay provinces in particular.
According to the official, over the past years, cooperation betweenHai Phong and the two Lao provinces has achieved good results in the fields ofParty and administration building, education and training, healthcare, tourism,investment and trade.
Especially, in people-to-people diplomacy, theVietnam-Laos Friendship Association in Hai Phong is one of the largest associations of its kind in the country and operates regularly with 12 chapters and 3,700 members./.
