Lao Front vows to cultivate ties with Vietnam

President of the Lao Front for National Construction has affirmed that the Party, State, LFNC and people of Laos will do their utmost to raise the Laos–Vietnam special ties to a new height.
President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) PhaduongchitVongsa has affirmed that the Party, State, LFNC and people of Laoswill do their utmost to raise the Laos–Vietnam special ties to a newheight.

Meeting with General Secretary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi on May 27,Vongsa informed his host of the outcomes of talks with the VietnamFatherland Front (VFF) on the same day.

The Partychief highly valued the increasingly effective cooperation between theLFNC and VFF in fostering Vietnam–Laos solidarity.

He said he hopes the two sides will continue working closely together toshare experience and hold communication campaigns featuring theVietnam–Laos special ties.

The host also expressedhis belief that the fraternal Lao people will continue harvestinggreater achievements in their renewal cause.

Earlier, at talks with VFF President Huynh Dam, the two sides agreed tofurther their bilateral friendship and cooperation in the time to come,especially the implementation of cooperation agreements for the 2011 –2016 period signed on November 24, 2011 in Vientiane.

Accordingly, the two sides will raise public awareness of thesolidarity tradition, friendship and cooperation between the twonations, boost people-to-people exchange, and work with relevantagencies to call on businesses and people of all strata to effectivelyimplement cooperation programmes between the two Governments ineconomics, culture, science, education, healthcare and the environment.

President Huynh Dam asked the LFNC and VFF to urgethose living along the two countries’ border areas to support each otherand build the Vietnam–Laos border of peace and friendship.

At the same time, they were requested to encourage models ofcooperation between the LFNC, VFF and local authorities of all levels,especially the exchange of delegations to share experience andinformation.

Vongsa said LFNC bodies regularly callon people living in localities bordering Vietnam to build a borderof peace, especially in Savannakhet province.

Concluding the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of understandingon preparations for the Laos–Vietnam–Cambodia Front PresidiumConference, scheduled for this November in Vientiane.-VNA
