Vientiane (VNA) –  Laonewspapers on January 7 published articles on the upcoming official visit toVietnam on January 8-10 by Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh, highlightingthat the trip aims to strengthen thegreat friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between thetwo countries.

In its article, the Pasaxon (People's) Newspaper - the organof the Lao People's RevolutionaryParty (LPRP), spotlighted the special solidarity betweenthe two countries, saying that the Lao leader’s visit helps affirm the strongsolidarity, special political appreciation and trust of the Lao Party, State andpeople for their Vietnamese counterparts.

Itwrote that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos remains strong. This demonstrates that the twocountries always see each other as comrades, reliable and closefriends and important partners across fields.

Notably, the Vietnamese National Assembly hasactively supported Laos in monitoring and inspecting the NationalAssembly (NA) building project of Laos - a gift worth 111 million USD of the Vietnamese Party, State and people for the Lao side.

This work is of important political and diplomatic significance as it is one of the symbols of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperationbetween the Vietnamese and Lao Parties, States and people, it added.

Viphavanh’s visit not only reaffirms the close and comprehensive cooperation between Laosand Vietnam, but also proves that the bilateral relations is being ceaselessly strengthened, contributing to cultivatingand further promoting the great friendship, special solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, the newspaper said.

Meanwhile, PathetLao (the nation of Laos) newspaper ofthe Lao News Agency(KPL) described the Laos-Vietnam relationship as a special and close one. citing that whenever Laos faces difficulties, the Party, Government andpeople of Vietnam always give valuable, timely and effective support to thecountry, especially in the COVID-19 combat.

Vietnam was the first country to support Laos in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating the specialty of the Laos and Vietnam relations, the newspaper said.

It stressed that the great friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, Statesand people of the two countries is a rare model in international relations, andis one of the decisive factors behind the victory of each country's revolution./.
