Laos held a meeting to discuss the control and management of drugs from February 11-13.
According to the Lao National Commission for Drug Control andSupervision, around 55,000 people living in Laos are vulnerable todrug addiction.
Eighty percent of those people aredependent on amphetamines, the remaining 20 percent use opium, heroin,marijuana and other stimulants.
Speaking at themeeting, Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly called for effectivesolutions to reduce and end the growing and production of narcotics inthe country.
