Laos, Cuba pledge to enhance cooperation

Vientiane (VNA) – General Secretary of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith has received RobertoMorales Ojeda, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Communist Party ofCuba Central Committee’s Secretariat, highlighting the two countries’ commitmentto enhance cooperation.

The Lao leader described the visit by the Cuban official as asignificant contribution to the traditional relations and solidarity betweenthe Parties, States and people of Laos and Cuba, the Lao News Agency (KPL)reported.

He affirmed Laos’s continued cooperation with Cuba to promote the bilateral relations more fruitfully.

At the meeting, Roberto Morales expressed his delight at thetwo countries’ relations.

During his visit to Laos, the visiting Cuban official hadtalks with Bounthong Chitmany, Permanent member of the Lao Party CentralCommittee Secretariat and Vice President of Laos.

The two sides informed each other about outstanding issues intheir respective countries and exchanged viewpoints on regional andinternational issues of common interest.

They also signed three agreements, including an agreement on exchangeand cooperation between the two Parties, along with cooperation deals betweenthe countries’ Party schools and youth organisations./.
