Laos: Four foreigners killed in road accident

A serious road accident in Vientiane province, northern Laos, has killed four people from the Republic of Korea and one Lao national, and injured 24 others mostly Italian citizens.

Vientiane (VNA)ܫ – A serious road accident in Vientiane province, northern Laos, has killed four people from the Republic of Korea and one Lao national, and injured 24 others mostly Italian citizens.

The incident happened at around 11 a.m on February 21 when a bus with 19 Italian tourists travelling from Luang Prabang to Vientiane, the capital city, lost control and crashed into a car carrying six tourists and one Lao tour guide, according to Vientiane province’s traffic police. More than 100 traffic accidents happened in Laos from February 8 – 14, killing 20 people and injuring over 200 others, which are high figures compared to Laos’s population of 6.4 million, said the Lao Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department.-VNA
