Laos reports 28 new COVID-19 infections

Vientiane (VNA) – The Health Ministry of Laos on June 28 confirmed 26new COVID-19 infections, including 14 local-transmitted cases, over the past 24hours.

Among the new domestic cases, seven were found in Vientiane capital city, fourin Vientiane province, two in Luang Namtha and one in Xayaboury,

The ministry said the sudden increase in the number of new cases shows that thepandemic is still at risk of outbreak in the community. Meanwhile, neighbouringcountries have also witnessed complicated developments of the pandemic in therecent times.

It urges people to strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention andcontrol, and quickly notify the authorities if detecting suspected illegalentry.

Latest statistics show that Laos documented 2,076 COVID-19 cases, includingthree deaths./.
