Vientiane (VNA) – 🅰The two-day official visit of Lao Prime Minister ThonglounSisoulith to Russia from September 26 was a milestone in the traditionalfriendship between Laos and Russia, according to Lao media.

Attalks between the Lao PM and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, the twosides lauded the friendship and cooperation based on trust and mutual support. Bothleaders agreed that bilateral relations have been thriving through leaders’visits, while affirming that they will strive to bring relations to a newlevel. Theyalso committed to boosting cooperation in economy-trade, investment, energy,education, culture, health, science-technology, travel, telecommunication,defence and other fields of mutual concern, along with continuing high-levelvisits and efficient implementation of cooperation deals. Onthe occasion, the two countries inked seven documents, including agreements oncriminal extradition and air transportation, energy and mining, raisingcapacity in countering money laundering and terror funding, and military technology. Duringhis visit, the Lao PM also met with Chairwoman of Russia’s Federation CouncilValentina Matvienko.-VNA
