Latin American film week begins in Hanoi next week

Hanoi (VNA) –  The third Latin American 🗹Film Week will last from November 11-14 with the screening of nine films from nine Latin American countries.

The information was released at a news conference that was co-held in Hanoi on November 3 by the Peru and Mexico Embassies representing the Embassies of Latin American countries in Vietnam.
Movies to be screened include prize winners like “The liberator” (Venezuela), “Whisky” (Uruguay), “Paradise” (Mexico), and “the Wind and the Water” (Panama). The chargé d’ affaires of the Peru Embassy Luis Tsuboyama said Latin America’s film-making industry mainly presented by Argentina, Mexico, Brazil and Cuba has grown robustly to reach a wider audience.
The film week aims to introduce cultures of Latin American countries to the Vietnamese audience, helping them understand more about Latin America and how its film producers observe the world, he said. Mexican Ambassador Sara Valdes Bolano said in Latin American films reflect political, economic and social issues in each country with its unique and original features. Cinematheque cinema at 22A Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi will host the Latin American film week, with free admissions.-VNA
