Leaders of Dong Nai honoured with Lao Order of Independence

Dong Nai (VNA) – Governor of Champasakprovince Bounthong Divixay on November 13 presented the Order of Independenceof the Lao State to leaders of Vietnam’s southern Dong Nai province for theircontributions to Vietnam – Laos relations.
On behalf of Lao President Bounnhang Vorachit, GovernorDivixay awarded the second-class Order of Independence to Secretary of the DongNai Party’s Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong and Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Dinh Quoc Thai, along with the third-class Order of Independence toVice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh.
The Lao official also presented the first-class Labour Orderto the southern province’s Party Committee Office, People’s Committee Officeand Department of External Affairs, and the Friendship Order to fiveorganisations and four individuals.
In his remarks at the event, Divixay said the confermentof these noble decorations is to recognize those who have dedicated themselvesto promoting the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the twocountries’ Parties, States and people.
Secretary of the Dong Nai Party’s Committee Nguyen PhuCuong expressed gratitude for the honour, saying he hopes the long-standingties between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between Dong Nai and Lao provinces,will ever grow.
Dong Nai currently has two enterprises – Tin NghiaCorporation and Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading JSC – investing in Laos.
The province has also regularly organized visits andcharity medical checkups in Laos. Universities and colleges in the province havetrained 179 Lao students since 2012. –VNA
The Vietnamese and Lao States have honoured several units and individuals of the women’s unions of the two countries for their outstanding contribution to the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnamese and Laos women and peoples.
A conference was held in Dong Hoi city, in the central province of Quang Binh, on November 13 to look into the implementation of certain documents on the Vietnam-Laos borderline, border markers, and border gates.
The “Vietnam-Laos Special Friendship” Festive Day will be held on December 4-5 in Dien Bien city, northern Dien Bien province, with the aim of promoting images of a renovated Vietnam and the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.
The Party chief underscored the need for the press to innovate relentlessly, evolve to keep pace with the country's development, transform into a truly professional, humanistic, and modern sector that serves the cause of the Party, the State, and the people on the path to national construction and development.
The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes.
