Hanoi (VNA) –Legislators debated the draft revised Law on Railway during a plenary sessionin Hanoi on May 30 under the chair of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan. 

After hearing a report on adjustments made tothe railway bill based on received opinions, the law-makers looked intocontentious contents of the document. 

They focused on policies for railway developmentand the mobilization of resources for the work; Vietnam’s railway system; investmentin the construction, management and maintenance of railways; railway business;punishments against violations in the railway sector; and responsibility oforganisations and individuals for railway accidents. 

In the afternoon, the legislators discussed ingroups the draft revised Law on Public Asset Management and the draft amendedLaw on Complaints. 

They are scheduled to give opinions to the draftrevised Law on State Compensation Liability on May 31 morning.

During the afternoonsession, they will scrutinise the law and ordinancebuilding programme for 2018 and the adjustment of the 2017 law andordinance building programme. They will also mull over the legislature’sprojected supervisory activities in 2018.-VNA
