Hanoi (VNA) - Socio-economic development issues and a draft amendedLaw on Drug Prevention and Control will be high on agenda at the 10th session of the 14th-tenure National Assembly on November 2.
In the morning, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuongand Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology andEnvironment Phan Xuan Dung will deliver a proposal and verification report, respectively, on shifting forest land for other purposes to build Than river reservoir in Ninh Thuanprovince and Mong village reservoir in Nghe An province.
Legislators will discuss in groups the outcomes of the implementation ofsocio-economic development and state budget plans in 2020, socio-economic development plan and budget estimate and allocation in2021, several tasks and solutions for socio-economic development during2021-2025, the national target programmes on new-style rural development andsustainable poverty reduction during 2021-2025, medium-term public investmentplans for the period, and replacing land for the construction of reservoirs in thetwo provinces.
The deputies will spend the whole afternoon debating the amended Law on DrugPrevention and Control.
They will give opinions on the amended contents, which include state budget toensure the construction of drug detoxification facilities, organisation ofcompulsory detoxification, and financial support for addicts who voluntarilyregister for a detoxification programme.
The amended law also encourages the establishment of privatedetoxification centres as well as preferential policies for individuals andorganisations who invest in the facilities./.
Legislators debated amendments and supplements to the Laws on HIV/AIS Prevention and Control and on Vietnamese Workers Working Abroad under Contracts on the fourth day of the 14th National Assembly (NA)’s 10th sitting held virtually on October 23.
NA deputies on October 24 said that there should be clearer and more detailed regulations on responsibilities and obligations of organisations, production and business establishments, and individuals in paying fees and taxes on environmental protection.
