Lion Air ends search for crashed Boeing 737’s second black box

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s Lion Air announced on January 3 that thecarrier had ended its search for the second black box voice recorder of its Boeing737 Max jet which crashed into the Java Sea on October 29, killing all 189people aboard.

Lion Air Groupspokesman Danang Mandala said that the search using the offshore supply shipMPV Everest had ended at 23:59 of December 29 (local time).

The group spent 38billion rupiad (2.6 million USD) on the search.

Lion Air’s Boeing 737MAX aircraft plunged into the Java Sea 13 minutes after take-off from Jakartato Pangkal Pinang city on October 29. All 189 people on board were killed.
