The accident occurred on National Highway No.5 where thedelegation was going from the foot of an overpass to the local martyrs’cemetery.
Seven others were sent to hospital, one of whom also died.
Upon learning about the news, Permanent Deputy PrimeMinister and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binhsent his profound condolences to families of the victims.
He asked the provincial People’s Committee to continuedirecting rescue operations and give top priority to saving victims in order toreduce fatalities from the incident.
Binh assigned Minister of Transport and permanent DeputyChairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Nguyen Van The and DeputyChairman of the committee Khuat Viet Hung to visit and condole victims’families, and work with the local authorities to direct the post-accidentrecovery.
