Hanoi (VNA) - The widest highway inthe coastal province of Quang Ninh will be open to public in April, said Do VanTham, construction site manager.
The 10-lane highway, connecting Ha Long Citywith Hai Phong – Van Don Highway, has been under construction since June 2017and is now 90 percent complete, Tham said.
“We are mobilising maximum human resources andequipment to accelerate the construction process,” he told enternews.vn. “Weare determined to complete the highway by April,” he said.
The highway is 5km long and 54.5m wide, witheight lanes for motorised vehicles and two for non-motorised ones.
Part of an expansion project of National Route18 in Ha Long City, it will reduce travel time from Hai Phong port city to HaLong and improve the transport infrastructure of Quang Ninh province.
It cost 380 billion VND (16.7 million USD),which was paid for by Ha Long City.- VNA
Bidding must open soon for investors to carry out the 11 projects needed to complete the North-South Expressway, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has said.
