The new MRT will connect Sungai Buloh and Serdang of Selangor State and Putrajaya federal administrative capital (SSP).
The SSP line is 52.5 km long and includes 24 railway stations, encompassing 11 underground ones.
Experts said SSP marks another milestone for Greater Kuala Lumpur to achieve 40 percent of public transport model share within the next 15 years, which stood at 25 percent in late 2015.
The line is expected to serve around 530,000 passengers per day.
Sungai Buloh – Kajang (SBK), the first MRT in Malaysia, with the total investment of 23 billion MYR (5.75 billion USD) has nearly 90 percent of work completed.
Once operational in July 2017, it is capable of carrying 440,000 passengers on a daily basis.-VNA
