Kuala Lumpur (VNA)🦹 – The Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) on June 21 announced the final decision of its administrative review of anti-dumping duties imposed on cold-rolled or non-alloy steel products with a width of more than 1,300mm imported from China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, and Vietnam.

Accordingly, anti-dumping duties will continue to be imposed on producers from China and Japan while those on relevant exporters from the RoK and Vietnam will be terminated, starting from June 23.
Previously on December 24, 2024, based on a petition filed by Mycron Steel CRC Sdn. Bhd. on behalf of the domestic steel industry, MITI initiated an administrative review of the sunset clauses for duties on cold-rolled coils exceeding 1,300mm in width, excluding cold-rolled blackplate used for tinplate, automotive-grade imports, and finwall sheets used in transformers — originating from or exported by China, the RoK, Japan, and Vietnam. These duties, initially imposed in 2015 and extended in 2020, were intended to safeguard the domestic steel industry of Malaysia. MITI noted that the review was conducted in accordance with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Anti-Dumping Agreement and Malaysia’s Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act 1993./.
