Hanoi (VNA) – Malaysia’s military forces on November 5 were deployed🎶 toassist flood-hit residenꦡts in the northern state of Penang.

Accordingto Malaysian officials, wide-ranged floods caused by downpours and strong windshit about 80 percent of Penang state. At least 2,000 people had been evacuated. Floodwaterhad risen to 3-4 metres in many areas and more rains were expected. Malaysian DeputyPrime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi instructed the National Security Council to workwith police and military forces to help flood victims after a request forassistance from Penang. Hundreds oftrees were toppled and roads were submerged, leaving many areas isolated. At leasttwo people had been killed, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported.-VNA
