Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia needs more funding for the implementation of the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS) to enhance its competitiveness with neighbouring countries, said Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
During a press conference following the launch of a GenAI Skilling for Industry 4.0 adoption in SMEs in Penang, Chief Minister of Penang Chow Kon Yeow said Malaysia is allocating 25 billion MYR (5.64 billion USD) into the initiative which is insufficient
Malaysia has to continue to be conscious of the competition presented by neighbouring countries that placed more focus on developing their semiconductor industry, he said.
Later, Chow also launched an e-harvesting campaign, a collaboration between Dell Technologies, Shan Poornam Metals Sdn Bhd and Penang Green Council.
