– A total of45,499 illegal immigrants were arrested by the Immigration Department ofMalaysia between January 1 and December 6.

Also during the same period under review, 1,323employers were detained for hiring or hiding illegal immigrants, most of themhad been brought to court.

Director General Mustafar Ali reiterated thathis department rejects all the applications to enter Malaysia that fail to meetrequirements.

A total of 72,361 individuals have been deniedof entries into Malaysia in 2018 due to passport and visa issues, he said.

Those who have been blacklisted and categorizedas prohibited immigrants under the immigration law were also turned away fromthe country, he added.-VNA
