Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Three men, including a19-year-old student and a 35-year-old former soldier, have been nabbed byMalaysian authority for terror attack plots.

The arrest was made in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan state,Malaysia last week. Police seized home-made explosive devices enough to causedamage within a 30-m radius and several materials used to produce bombs.

According to Inspector-General of Police Mohamad FuziHarun, their targets included a beer festival and non-Muslim houses of worship.

The suspects, believed to have links with the so-calledIslamic State (IS), had successfully detonated one of the bombs at home, hesaid, adding that the police were not ruling out the possibility that theymanaged to get the guidelines to produce bombs from the IS.

Some 989 suspects have been arrested by Malaysianauthority from 2012 to April 2017 for involving in terrorism.-VNA
