Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Malaysian government will soon announce a comprehensive form of assistance for various groups in the country who are affected by the strictest movement control or Phase One under the National Recovery Plan to curb the spread of COVID-19, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Speaks to the media during his visit to the vaccination centre at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre on June 27, the PM said the government is always working to ensure that the 12 million people or households in the country who are affected are given appropriate assistance and support to cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said there will be assistance for B40, M40, and loan moratorium for the T20 (eligible) group.

The first phase of the National Recovery Plan which due to expire on June 28 will be extended as the country’s COVID-19 infection numbers have not met the threshold set, that is, when the number of new COVID-19 infections per day is below 4,000, said Muhyiddin.

💃 On June 27, Malaysia recorded 5,586 new cases, bringing the country's total number of COVID-19 infections to 734,048 cases. This is the fifth consecutive day, the number of COVID-19 infections in Malaysia is above 5,000 cases per day./.
